KidShip’s fleet includes a range of boats carefully chosen to enhance a young sailor’s learning experience. Fast, responsive and most of all FUN, our fleet of boats carries our new sailors from their first introduction to sailing on a stable, dry American 14 to the fast and challenging Club 420.
American 14 - a 14-foot daysailer with jib and a comfortable cockpit for young sailors; perfect for practicing teamwork.
Barnett 14 - a 14-foot monohull, similar to a Laser, but with a smaller sail area; light and stable, yet fast and responsive for smaller hands.
Laser Radial - a 12-foot monohull, similar to Barnett 14s, but rigged more aggressively for KidShip alumni and solo skippers.
Vanguard 420 - The 420 is by far the most popular two-handed boat on the racing scene today. Simple enough to be mastered by new sailors, the 420 is capable of performance to challenge the best collegiate All Americans. Kidshippers moving up to the 420 will find the whole world of club and collegiate sailing competition opening up to them.
